PRAYER OF FATHER ROBERT LE GALL, ARCHBISHOP OF TOULOUSE,
FOR THE GLORIFICATION OF SERVANT OF GOD
LE PÈRE MARIE-ANTOINE DE LAVAUR, CAPUCIN
Lord our God, you who provide your Church with the servants it needs throughout the ages,
remember the mission and apostolic devotion of Father Marie-Antoine, Capuchin in Toulouse, the South and beyond.
Friend of the poor and of children, full of energy drawn from faith and prayer he focussed on propagating your heavenly love.
Like your Son, he knew how to speak of your infinite mercy and knew how to save sinners.
At the beginning of this third Millennium, marked by an indifference to religion or by the hate directed against Christians,
kindly glorify your servant who gave unselfishly in his mission.
May he intercede for the renewed evangelization to which Saint Peter calls us ail.
Thus, thanks to the Immaculate Virgin Mary to whom he prayed at Lourdes with the crowds he led there,
we will be able to follow the path to your Kingdom of love and peace with the fervour of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Father Marie-Antoine lies in the chapel of the convent which he founded at 33 Avenue Jean-Rieux, 31500 Toulouse
and which today is called The Couvent des Carmes.
